Healthy Heart Dentistry® is your primary distributor of in-office blood tests to dental offices across the country. We are helping to improve the quality of care offered to dental patients without the need for an additional license or personnel. Why should I be offering blood testing in my dental office? Studies have shown a direct link between your gums and numerous disease states.  With a simple blood test, dentists now have the opportunity to provide a new level of patient care.  Now a trip to the dentist office can help those who may have undiagnosed Diabetes, High Cholesterol, or Heart Disease.  There are already hundreds of dental offices joining in to this new trend. Do I need any special certification to perform these tests? No special license is required to perform the test.  All tests are FDA approved or CLIA Waived. Do I need any special training? No.  All tests come with an easy to read instructional placemat. Are these tests available for Insurance Reimbursement? All tests come with a CPT code.  Only tests prescribed by a doctor are available for reimbursement.  Insurance providers determine if the specified diagnosis code (ICD-9) warrants reimbursement for the laboratory procedure.  Tests are FSA (Flexible Spending Account) eligible for reimbursement. How long does it take to receive my order? Your order will ship within 24 hours.                                                              What are the expiration dates on the tests?  All tests are good for 3-5 years and require no refrigeration. Is fasting require for all tests? No.  Only the Diabetes Risk Assessment and Cholesterol Panel require a fasting period.  You may send the test home with the patient if they have not fasted. Are there any additional costs to the Dentist?  No.  All testing supplies, return mail, and lab reports are included.
